Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran inaugurates 5G, IoT lab

The Research and Development Center of Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran has launched a 5G and Internet of Things laboratory. 

The Secretary of the Development of Connectivity and Communication Technologies Headquarters affiliated with the Iranian Vice Presidency and a number of directors of Iran’s Hamrah-e Aval cell phone operator attended the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.

The laboratory was established to overcome the challenges of responding to the future needs, provide innovative solutions for the operator’s network, materialize the designs and ideas, and also test and develop innovative products in the field of 5G and Internet of Things.

Mohammad Karbasi, Secretary of the Development of Connectivity and Communication Technologies Headquarters, addressed a press conference after the inauguration ceremony, saying, “We are seeking to create a culture of priorities like online and smart cars.”

He asked the government institutions to help remove the obstacles so more areas will be made smart within the next few years.

Vahid Shah Mansouri, director of Hamrah-e Aval’s Research and Development Center, also told the press briefing that the laboratory was established to develop the 5th generation ecosystem and help researchers test the products offered in this field.  

He also hoped that the lab would serve as a basis to bridge industrial and academic centers and its potentials and output would be used for development.
