Objects and circuits go electronic: surfaces don’t get stained

Using nanotechnology, a knowledge-based company has helped make 2D and 3D surfaces and objects waterproof in order to boost the performance and durability of products.

Electronic products are sensitive to humidity. The importance of this sensitivity becomes evident when an electronic gear is inadvertently exposed to extreme humidity or come in contact with water. Many pieces of equipment like printed electronic circuits, telephones, headphones, electronic boards and electrical gears need this feature.

The device produces polymer layers on the products placed therein, such as shoes or clothes. The polymer layers are one nanometer thick or as thin as several layers of molecules. These layers give the products waterproof and stainproof properties but do not affect their appearance or mechanical properties.
The polymer layers do not work the way a nylon mesh fabric does by covering pores and affecting breathability in products such as shoes or clothing. Actually, the layers are wrapped around each piece of yarn. Surface tension in these polymer layers is very low, which causes water droplets to slip off the surface, thus preventing water absorption in the product.
There are no equivalents of the product in the Iranian market, and its most important feature, compared to products of foreign companies, is the cost price thereof, which is one fifth of the foreign peers.
