Iran unveils four home-made strategic petrochemical industry products

Iran unveiled four strategic nanotechnology and technology products on Tuesday, November 28, designated as the National Day of Iran-Made Technology and Innovation, marking the assassination of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi took part in the ceremony to inaugurate the indigenous technologies for the production of low-sulfur fuel oil, ethylene oxide catalyst, acetylene conversion catalyst exposed to the ethylene current, namely acetylene converter, and also the isomerization catalyst of xylenes and ethylbenzene to paraxylene.

The Eksirnovin Farayand Asia knowledge-based Company invested over 5 million euros on the production of ethylene oxide catalyst for the first time in the country after 13 years of extensive research by Iranian scientists.

The company, supported by the Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, also invested over 4.5 million euros for the 4-year research and production of low-sulfur fuel oil.

The technology is expected to rake in over 500 million euros in revenues.

The projects will also create hundreds of jobs at home and save foreign reserves, previously earmarked to import the products from foreign companies.
