Iran and Saudi Arabia to boost scientific and technological cooperation

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Tehran has underlined the need to increase scientific cooperation with Iran during a visit to the Iran House of Innovation and Technology. According to the communications center of the office of the Iranian vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based econmy, Abdullah bin Masud al-Anzi made the remark in a meeting with Head of the Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions Amirhossein Mirabadi. 

In the meeting Mirabadi and al-Anzi stressed that Iran and Saudi Arabia need to boost their cooperation in scientific and technological fields. 

Also, they agreed to determine the areas which are top priorities for the two countries to define joint programs in technological fields and knowledge-based economic projects. 

Another topic that was underscored was the dedication of a similar body to the office of the vice-president for science and technology in Saudi Arabia to key interactions so that the important areas of common interest are determined. 

One point that Mirabadi and al-Anzi agreed on was that the two countries are not aware of each other’s capabilities in science and technology, and for this reason, they said that not until they get to know each other’s capabilities, will it be possible to define a specific project.
