Advanced Iranian air pollution monitoring device on its way to regional markets

An Iranian knowledge-based company has manufactured a monitoring device for air pollutants which runs on the solar energy without the need for electricity, according to Iranian Vice President’s Office for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

The knowledge-based company Fanpaya has made the device at a cost of ten times lower than those available at international markets which is expected to save the country between 6 and 10 million dollars annually.

The CEO of the company, Heidar Arabi, said the product can be used in public and industrial places, on roads and in meteorological sites as well as in various environmental conditions.

“The device can display the Air Quality Index (AQI) on the screen, detect particles with a diameter of at least 0.3 microns, get hooked up to the Internet, send and store information, and save, manage and display the data received from several air quality control devices,” he explained.

Arabi said talks are also underway to export the device to Turkey and Iraq.
