Sudanese foreign minister visits Iran House of Innovation and Technology

Sudan’s foreign minister and his entourage have visited the Iran House of Innovation and Technology where they called for expanding scientific and technological cooperation with the Islamic Republic. That’s according to the Iranian Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions which is affiliated to the office of Iran’s vice-president for science and technology.

The director of the center, Amirhossein Mirabadi, for his part emphasized the need to increase interaction between the two countries in the scientific and technological areas.

Mirabadi said there are many opportunities for cooperation in those fields.

“Our country has about 10,000 knowledge-based companies and a large number of startups and science and technological parks, and there is a good capacity to work with Sudan”, he added.

According to Mirabadi, many knowledge-based companies in Iran are ready to cooperate with African companies and the governments of Iran and Sudan also agree on the necessity of working together. Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Sadeq al-Hussein said he was happy that Islamic countries such as Iran have grown significantly in technological fields.

Hussein underlined that in today’s world, they do not respect a country that is not powerful technologically and, therefore, “we must develop and share our experiences so that all Muslims could benefit from it.”

The top Sudanese diplomat also said Sudan is a very large country with a 50-million-strong population and vast agricultural lands, but its resources cannot be used without access to technology. Hussein expressed hope that Sudan and Iran engage in scientific and technological cooperation by finding common areas.
