Iran, UNICEF launch joint program to develop innovation ecosystem for children, young adults

The Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy has struck a deal with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to develop an innovation ecosystem for children and young adults in Iran. 

Amir Hossein Mirabadi, the head of the Center for International Science and Technology Interactions, affiliated with the vice president’s office signed a memorandum of understanding with the UNICEF representative in Iran, Robin Nandy, to boost synergy in exchanging technology and sharing experiences on innovative solutions. 

Mirabadi said the Iranian government is pushing for an increase in the export of knowledge-based products in order to see a greater impact of knowledge-based companies’ activities on society and the national economy. 

Meanwhile, Nandy underlined the importance of innovation in the children and young adults sector and praised Iran for the steps it has taken in this regard. 

He also expressed hope that all executive parties in the Iranian government would take part in the program to witness tangible results on the stakeholders. 

The Iranian vice presidency launched an initative for children and young adults with UNICEF in 2019 to introduce an innovation ecosystem, get the stakeholders involved in the project, identify and support companies active in this sphere.
