Iran starts mass production of quantometers for factories, metallurgical industries

An Iranian knowledge-based company has started mass production of a metal elemental analysis device, known as quantometer, which is used to determine the amount of constituent elements of metallic pieces used in machines and the quality of the pieces for different applications in the metallurgical industry.

Ara Kavosh Pajouh made the achievement in 2017 by relying on the technical knowhow of domestic experts in photonics, electronics, plasma, analytical chemistry, physics and metallurgy, and succeeded in making the first quantometer with the capability of being presented to the industries in Iran.

The spectroscopic instrument device is based on Spark OES technology, by creating a plasma environment in the presence of argon gas and reveals the stimulated spectrum of elements, to measure the percentage of different metals present in a sample.

Mohammad Bayati, the director of the company, told the information center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, “Considering different industries’ need for portable quantometer devices in workshops and industrial sites to quickly control the analysis of input and output materials and products during production without the need for destruction or sampling, the Scan Port-Ara portable quantometer device was produced.”

The quantometer can be customized and has the flexibility for the analysis of various uncommon metal alloys according to the customers’ working grades, Bayati added.
