Iran’s milestone in MedTech: CT scan production line inaugurated

Ruhollah Dehghani, Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, marked a pivotal moment at the inauguration of Iran’s first CT scan machine production line. 

The line, unveiled in Khorasan Razavi Science and Technology Park, aims to meet 70% of the country’s annual CT scan machine needs while paving the way for future exports, ensuring self-sufficiency in this critical medical technology. 

The move toward domesticating CT scan production is projected to save Iran a significant 300 billion Tomans yearly. Dehghani, on a two-day visit to explore knowledge-based companies and promote technological innovation, emphasized the significance of this achievement for the country’s health sector. 

During the ceremony, the export of ventilators manufactured in Iran was also announced, signifying a growing capability in medical device production. 

A knowledge-based company showcased these advancements, marking a significant step in Iran’s medical technology landscape. 

Khosro Heydari, CEO of the advanced resuscitation technology company, highlighted the potential for increased production, cost savings, and even broader advancements, envisioning a future where Iran not only fulfills its domestic needs but also becomes a leading exporter of CT scan technology worldwide. 

The company’s dedication to research and development hints at a promising future, with plans underway to create more advanced CT scans and other cutting-edge medical devices. 

With 16 knowledge-based products and ambitious plans for further technological advancements, Iran’s stride in medical innovation underpins its commitment to self-reliance and global contribution in healthcare technology.
