Iran, Turkey ink MoU on scientific, industrial and technological cooperation

The Department for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy of the Iranian Presidential Office and the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on scientific, industrial and technological cooperation.

The document was signed on the fringes of the 8th meeting of the Iran-Turkey High Cooperation Council. 

The Mou was signed between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian representing the department and Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacir representing Turkey.

The cooperation deal is aimed at enhancing cordial ties between the two countries given the importance of science, industry, technology and innovation in developing national economy.

The MoU also seeks to promote scientific, industrial and technological partnership based on equality and mutual interests.

The MoU provides for a whole range of activities, including the exchange of scientists, researchers, academics and experts in the field of science and technology, holding joint conferences, workshops and exhibitions associated with science and technology.

Boosting cooperation between state institutions and research institutes, and exchanging experience and knowhow in the domains of industry and technology between Iran and Turkey are other areas of cooperation envisaged in the documents.
