Iran hosts intl. robotics, AI event showcasing latest advancements

A senior Iranian science and technology official has hailed an international artificial intelligence and robotics event known as Rainocup held in the city of Babol in northern Iranian Mazandaran Province in mid-November, 2023.

“This exhibition was held on a large scale presenting products which can be used in society and industry, which is invaluable,” said Amirhossein Amirabadi, the head of the International Science and Technology Interactions Center of the Presidential Office’s Department for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

He made the comments in a meeting with Bahram Azizollah Ganji, the Chancellor of the Babol University of Technology, the organizer of the event.

Amiabadi also lauded the university’s NITSAT students’ team for designing and developing a CubeSat.

“Our purpose is to fully tap into individuals’ potential, and based on the performance of centers, we will either enhance or withdraw our support,” he explained.

Ganji, in turn, touched upon an education overhaul and skills training programs for students at the university, saying, “To that end, it would be necessary to equip laboratories and workshops.”
